Winners of Design a Christmas Card 2015
Posted on October 20, 2016
In October 2015, with the help of The Shires Shopping Centre, the Trowbridge Fundraising branch launched a “design a Christmas Card” competition for school aged children in the Trowbridge and Westbury areas.
We received over 220 entries across the 3 age categories, but after much deliberation, Sarah Moore (Manager of The Shires), Tino Polledri and Ian Grant both members of the Trowbridge Fundraising Branch, were able to choose the 3 winning designs, which were submitted from:
- Amy Fowers, aged 7 of Holt Primary School
- Chloe Barton, aged 9 of Holbrook Primary School
- Luke Brichard-Parsons,aged 10 of Westbury Leigh Primary School
The winners received their prizes from Councillor Roger Andrews, the Mayor of Trowbridge, along with Tino Polledri, the Chair of the Trowbridge Fundraising Branch, Trevor Heeks the Town Crier and Samuel the Shires Bear.
The Shires Shopping Centre kindly provided us with a base from which to sell our cards each Saturday during November, and thanks to our many volunteers, we were able to sell more than 1,300 cards, netting just over £250 profit.
Many thanks to Sarah Moore, the manager of The Shires Shopping Centre for sponsoring this event.
