On 27th September 2015, seven brave Trowbridge Branch supporters took to the sky above Old Sarum in Salisbury and leapt out of a light aircraft with nothing but a tandem instructor and parachute to get them to the ground.
The skydivers Glenn Sharp, brother and Sister Samantha and James Coles, Tracey Freegard and her daughter Amy, Kim Single-Bloom and Chelle Brichard raised over £8,000.
Many of the divers upgraded their jump from the standard 10,000 feet to 15,000 feet. This meant they free fell for 10,000 feet in one minute, followed by a leisurely 5 minute glide to the ground once the parachute went up. It was a clear day, and some of the jumpers could see as far as the Isle of Wight. Chelle said “It was a fantastic experience and I thoroughly recommend it to everyone. The team were all very proud of the amount raised and many of us are booking in again this year. Our eldest team member was 70 so it just goes to show you’re never to old to jump out of a plane”.
