Sisters Walk Coast To Coast

They walked Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route from St Bee’s to Robin Hoods Bay in 14 days.

The sisters have always lived locally and were both brought up in Corsham but Sheila moved, all of 4 miles when she married 42 years ago. Eileen moved away to Bristol to train as a nurse but returned to Corsham when she married 39 years ago. Both sisters are now retired and both are over 60 but they still get on really well.

Sheila was diagnosed with Breast Cancer but has been treated and is now on the road to recovery. Their walking adventure started in the summer of 2010 when they agreed to walk from one side of England to the other using.

Eileen had wanted to complete this challenge for some time and the fact that they were now both retired and had ‘time on their hands’ provided the opportunity and influenced their decision to take fourteen days to complete the walk.
