These young mothers organised a Barn Dance at Combe Down Junior School on July 10th in memory of a close friend, Emma ,who died of cancer last year. Local people and businesses donated exceptional gifts and promises, i.e. holidays, designer clothes, 3 course meals, short breaks etc, all of which were auctioned off during the event. They raised £2,607 for the Bath Cancer Unit Support Group and a cheque was presented at the Forester's Arms on Thursday 7 October to Carol Williams - chair of the Bath Fund Raising Branch of BCUSG. Carol gave them certificates for their fund raising efforts - these are given to people who raise over £1000 - which was a magnificent effort on behalf of BCUSG who are very grateful for their contribution.
